Thirteen Summer Movies
I’m not really into chick flicks or sad movies, I’m more of a action, thriller or scary movie kinda girl. Once in a while I’ll go for something sweet and romantic but more often I want to watch kick-ass characters blow shit up. Below are 13 movies that might be worth seeing this summer. Yes, a few of these are out and I’m behind already. LOL!
IRONMAN
May 2nd
When billionaire playboy and inventor genius Tony Stark (Downey) gets kidnapped and forced to build a doomsday weapon, he complies: Only it’s himself encased in heavy metal armor, enhanced by killing gizmos. Once Iron Man is born, Stark finds he can’t just stand down: Global badness is afoot.

What Happens In Vegas
May 9th
After a wild night in Las Vegas, Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher wake up to find themselves married. A greedy struggle ensues between the newly wed strangers when they win a huge slot-machine jackpot.
I’m not too sure about this one. Looks kinda Chick Flickish, but I needed 13.

.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
.
May 16th
.
.
The four Pevensie siblings take a second dive through that magical wardrobe into Narnia, to find that 1,300 years have passed and an evil king bent on murdering the kingdom’s rightful heir now rules.

Indiana Jones and the Kindom of the Crystal Skull
May 22nd
It’s 1957, and nearly 20 years after battling his last Nazi, archaeology professor and (ohmigod!) sexagenarian Indy Jones gets back in the game. The titular artifact, a relic of ancient Mayan civilization, may be the means of tapping all manner of cosmic power and enabling its possessor to, dare we say it, rule the world — which means it absolutely must not fall into the hands of agents of history’s latest Evil Empire, the Soviet Union.

The Incredible Hulk
June 13th
Physicist Bruce Banner’s still on the hunt for a cure to his Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde predicament. But how’s a man to concentrate with Gen. Thunderbolt (Hurt) aiming all of America’s military might at Banner’s raging id? Then, to complicate further matters, another gamma-mutated monster — aptly dubbed the Abomination — crashes the party. What? You say Bruce has girlfriend (Liv Tyler) issues? Fuggedaboutit.

Get Smart
.
June 20th
.
Did you know that comic geniuses Mel Brooks and Buck Henry dreamed up “Get Smart,” the ’60s spy spoof that became a boob tube classic? Now Maxwell Smart, always the perfect screw-up, and Agent 99, his lovely, infinitely more capable sidekick, team up on the big screen, to once again tackle KAOS.
.
.
Wanted
.
June 27th
.
.
An apathetic 9-to-5 drone, Wes (McAvoy) can barely sustain a job, a girlfriend, his life. Then his dad is murdered and an exotic femme called Fox (Jolie) enlists him in a secret society of assassins staffed by trainers (Freeman, et al.) who teach Wes how to get in touch with “the wolf inside him.”

The Strangers
.
July 13th
.
.
Lock the doors. Assume you’re safe.
The horrifying events that took place in the Hoyt family’s vacation home at 1801 Clark Road on February 11, 2005, are still not entirely known.
Champagne. Rose petals. Candlelight. It was supposed to be a night of celebration for Kristen McKay (Liv Tyler) and James Hoyt. But after leaving a friend’s wedding reception and returning to the house, everything had collapsed for the happy couple.
Then came a 4 a.m. knock on the door and a haunting voice.
Is Tamara here?
The Dark Knight
.
July 18th
.
.
Batman (Christian Bale) rocks moodily on in the sequel to “Batman Begins” of three years ago, this time in uneasy collaboration with Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) against that most demonic of adversaries — none other than the Joker (Heath Ledger).
Gotta see Heath’s last movie!

.
.
Tropic Thunder

August 15th

Ben Stiller and his all-star cast find life imitating art a little too close for comfort when an action movie set in the jungles of Asia turns into reality.

The new Indie movie, and Iron Man are must-sees for me

I’m looking forward to the new interpretation of Narnia. Be good to see what they make of it nowadays.
I am looking forward to “Narnia” and “Indiana Jones.” The rest, I can wait until it comes out on DVD.

Have you seen the preview for the Hulk? Holy Crap! It looks so fun - of course, I’m a huge Hulk fan so… I am looking forward to these movies too!
Movies? What are those?
Seriously. It’s been so long — and until the Stanley Cup gets awarded, I’m not going to leave the house long enough to find out. Unless it’s to go to a game.
*sigh*
I haven’t been to the movies in ages. I usually wait for things to come out on DVD so I can watch at my convenience, but summertime its a great mon/son activity that doesn’t require baking out in the Florida sun. LOL!
What a great list of movies! There definatly are some great ones coming out soon! Happy TT!
I’m all about Indy and Narnia this summer. What fun for the summer!
Id like to see all of them, although, I already seen #1. It rocked! Happy TT.
Ironman was great.
Can’t wait to see Indy!!!
I hope to find time to see a couple of these movie’s. Not the scary one’s. Happy TT
Aw, man, I miss movies and wanna see all of those! But toddlers and action-adventure flicks don’t mix so well… We’ll prepare for the long wait to DVD, instead.
I want to see almost every one of those movies. I’m DYING to see the new Indiana Jones movie and I simply MUST have that collectors edition set of the first three that is out. Oh and I want his hat. Have I mentioned I like Indiana Jones ALOT! hehehe
Great list, can’t wait to see Get Smart, Narnia & Indiana Jones. Happy TT!
I can’t wait to get to the movie theater! Lots of things I want to see. Happy TT!
Great TT!
Iron Man was awesome! They’re having a midnight showing of Indiana Jones next Thursday and we all plan on being there. I hope it’s not disappointing. And I can’t wait to see the new Hulk movie. I love Edward Norton.
